Cunningham Pond 2020 Register View Cart

The pond is scheduled to open June 1st- by advanced reservation only.  Each day we will have two separate time slots: 10:00am - 2:15pm, and 2:45pm – 7:00pm. Reservations for each time slot must be made by 4:00pm on the previous day.  You may arrive and depart at any time within the time slot you have reserved.

Beach stickers will not be needed this summer, although the ability to make pond reservations is restricted to Peterborough residents.  The non-residents who purchased a summer 2020 pond pass pre-COVID-19 will also be allowed access to the reservation system.  At this time, there are no additional summer passes for non-residents to purchase.  All reservations will be available first come, first served and cannot be held without payment.

We will initially offer reservations from June 1 through June 14.  For the first two weeks while we try this out, we will allow ten vehicles per time slot.  Beginning June 8th, each Monday we will open up one more week of reservations. 

The reservation is for a vehicle to park in the lot, though we will not be restricting the number of people in each vehicle.  Cars, minivans and SUVs are permitted; no vans, buses or RVs allowed.  Although there is no parking on Cunningham Pond Road, anyone living nearby who can walk to the beach may enter on foot.  No drop-offs are allowed.


The reservation system will go live at 8:30am on Thursday May 28th.  Reservations may be made with a debit or credit card online at the bottom of this page, or by calling the office at 924-8080 weekdays between 8:30am – 4:00pm. 
* The fee to reserve a parking spot is $8 per time slot. 
* You must present your receipt (printed or on your phone) to be admitted. 
* If you keep your reservation, $7 will be refunded directly to your card within 72 hours. 
* Once a reservation is made, it cannot be cancelled or rescheduled. 
* If we decide to close the pond due to extreme weather (hard rain or electrical storms), we will notify those with reservations and will refund their entire $8.
* If you do not keep your reservation, although the pond is open, no refunds will be issued. 


* How Do I Make a Reservation? 
Reservations are open to all Peterborough residents.  Also, the non-residents who purchased a summer 2020 access pass before the COVID-19 restrictions began will be allowed access to the reservation system.  Reservations are not guaranteed to anyone and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.  
A) Online Reservations: 
   1) At the bottom of this page, find the listing for the day and time slot you would like to reserve.  The number of available "seats" can be seen on the far right, or you can click on View Registration Eligibility.  
   2) Log In to Register.  If you do not yet have an account, you can open one now.  If you have previously made an account and cannot log in, please reset your password or contact us instead of creating a new account.
   3) Pay online with a debit or credit card.  Print your receipt or save it on your phone to show the gate attendant when you arrive. 

B) Phone Reservations:  
Call the office at 924-8080 weekdays between 8:30am - 4:00pm and we can help you over the phone with a debit or credit card.  You will receive an email receipt immediately.  Print your receipt or save it on your phone to show the gate attendant when you arrive.


* Available Amenities
Face masks are highly recommended when not in the water. 
Bring your own face masks.  
Bring your own toys, life jackets and water bottles. 
  There is no source for drinking water or refilling water bottles at the pond.   Beyond your own Type III Coast Guard approved life jackets, other flotation devices such as floaties, noodles and aqua-wings are not allowed. 
At this time, there will be no boats or kayaks rentals
The raft will not be placed in the water this year.
Restroom facilities will be open but the changing rooms will be locked. 
Please plan accordingly by changing at home.
 
* COVID-19 Screening
At the gate, drivers will be screened
by PRD staff for the following COVID-19 related questions:


  • Have you or anyone in the vehicle experienced any symptoms of COVID-19 in the last 72 hours, including fever, dry cough, other flu-like symptoms?

  • Have any of your family members or persons with whom you have been in close contact experienced symptoms of COVID-19 within the past two weeks?

  • In the past two weeks, has anyone in your household been in contact with someone who experienced symptoms of COVID-19?

  • In the past two weeks, have you traveled to any known areas of COVID-19 infection?

  • In the past two weeks, have you or anyone in your household returned from a trip out of the country or from another state?


Anyone turned away at the gate due to COVID-19 concerns will be issued a complete $8 refund within 72 hours.

As we first try this out, we respectfully request that households make no more than two reservations per week, to allow as many others as possible to enjoy the pond.  We will be monitoring reservations and will contact anyone who appears to be abusing the system.

Please keep in mind that these rules have been established for your safety.  If at any time the current rules are not followed, your privilege of using the pond may be denied.  Please check rules frequently on this webpage as they may change. 

We all need to cooperate in following these guidelines in order to keep the pond open.  
We will continually reassess the safety and efficacy of this system, in accordance with state guidelines, and may modify any aspect of this plan at any time throughout the summer.
