Through games and training exercises, you and your dog will learn how to work together and make coming when called a much more reliable behavior.  For puppies and dogs over the age of 8 weeks.  Pups need to be on a 6 foot leash, no retractable leashes please.  This class runs for 4 weeks. Leash Manners Focus Class -  This 4 week class focuses on teaching our dogs proper leash walking etiquette. Stop the pulling, lunging and distracted focus when you take your dog out on leash. We will be working on leash skills both indoors and outdoors. Dogs must be on a regular 6 foot leash and a buckle collar or body harness. This class is appropriate for dogs 8 weeks and up! Handlers must be at least 16yrs. old, younger children welcome with parental supervision.  Bring proof of vaccination to the first class. Must have completed Wicked Good Basic Manners or equivalent. minimum 3; maximum 6  Everyone is to meet near the post office.  You must bring along proof that your pup's rabies vaccination is current.Tricks for Fun! - In this 3 week class we will focus on learning some basic and advanced tricks, work with conditioning equipment and have fun with our dogs. No pre-requisite is required for this class and it is appropriate for dogs 8 weeks and up!  Canine Good Citizen - This five week class prepares you and your dog to take the test to earn your AKC Canine Good Citizen title. This distinction tells the world your dog has passed a rigorous test based on polite behaviors like accepting a friendly stranger, walking on a loose leash, ignoring distractions and more. For more information and to see a list of all 10 test items, you can check out http://www.akc.org/dog-owners/training/canine-good-citizen/  There will be a test scheduled for those wanting to take the test, it is not required to participate in this class. Handlers must be at least 12 years old and dogs need to have gone through Wicked Good Basic Manners or the equivalent.Wicked Good Advanced Manners: This 6-week class is the continuation of the Wicked Good Basic Manners class. 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM    Dog Obedience Classes - Wicked Good Basic Manners Winter 2019
Wicked Good Basic Manners - This 6 week class focuses on the foundation behaviors that help you and your dog live happily together both at home and in the community.  It is designed to help owners teach their dogs leash manners, recall,  no jumping, attention and more.  This class is appropriate for new students ages 8 weeks and up.  We need a minimum of three registrants to run the class.  The class will be capped at 6.Reactive Rover - This 5 week class is designed for dogs that exhibit inappropriate behavior in the presence of other dogs or people.  It is NOT for dogs that have a bite history.  We will work on changing your dog’s emotional  response to things he finds offensive.  Owners will learn how to redirect/manage  and predict/prevent reactivity in their dog. This isn't a class for just rowdy, excitable dogs, this is for those dogs that exhibit aggressive outbursts toward dogs or people when on leash.  One will also learn techniques and tips on how to handle surprise and troublesome situations.  For dogs 5 months of age and older.  We need a minimum of 3 dogs to run the class, we have set the max at 5 dogs.Recall Focus - Teach your dog to come when called! Minimum class size 3; maximum class size 6Wicked Good Dogs About Town - This class meets in downtown Peterborough each session and works on community manners such as; leash skills, greeting behavior and calm behavior around distractions. This class explores many areas around downtown, so there will be a lot of walking required. You can register for each class individually as they fit your schedule. Bring plenty of water for yourself and your dog and really good walking shoes! Handlers must be 16yrs. or older. We will improve upon the basic behaviors learned, such as leash skills, recall, and attention around distractions. We will also work on improving your dogs’ greeting behavior with strangers. New behaviors of Stay, Go to your place and Drop it, will be learned as well. There will be a lot of distractions in this class to help your dog learn to work around them in the real world.  Handlers must be at least 16yrs.old. Handlers must be 16yrs. or older.
